Terms and conditions
Whether you are coming for individual sessions or relationship therapy with a partner, for counselling or psychosexual therapy, the following terms and conditions will apply:

Fees and payment

My fees can be found on the home page of this website. Should we agree to continue with therapy after your first appointment, I would expect payment for each sessions to be done on the day of our sessions or before the end of the week. Please note I do not have payment card facilities. Fees may be up for review according to economic situations.

Sessions and duration

You will be asked to commit to regular sessions at the same time each week. I have in the past been able to accommodate clients who work different shifts and will work with you to find suitable times depending on my client’s practice load and availability. Individual sessions are 50 minutes and relationship (with a partner) sessions are 75 minutes. Occasionally and upon prior request sessions can be extended. I work with an open ended contract that is we will not necessarily agree to a number of sessions, but we will agree to end our therapy work with two sessions of notice to allow us to review the work done and give closure to all issues discussed.

Cancellations

If you cancel a session with less than 2 full working days notice, you will agree to pay the full fee for the missed session. Occasionally I may be able to accommodate you with a different time, or have your session via Skype. But sometimes alternative arrangements may not be reached.

Confidentiality

I follow the code of ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk). All material discussed in our sessions remains confidential and will not be disclosed to any person/organisation without your consent. Exceptions to this rule would be if I am required to disclose information by a court of law, or in order to protect you or another person from significant harm. As with all registered psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK I attend regular supervision. This is a requirement from my accrediting bodies. Any material discussed in supervision remains confidential and my supervisors are bound to the same ethics of confidentiality. Information held about you is covered by the Data Protection Act 1998, and will not be disclosed to third parties.

Health Insurance

Please note that I am not registered with all health insurance providers and registration with such companies may take a few days. Health insurance will only cover a limited number of sessions (sometime as little as 6 sessions depending on the company), should you decide to continue therapy after the contracted sessions with the insurer, you will need to cover the costs personally.
